Critical Observations of The South African Cyber Security Industry

Although there is a wide range of new technologies, trends, and methodologies that could make a real difference in the fight against cybercrime, there are several key barriers that are currently preventing these from being effective in the South African market. Innovations including automation, artificial intelligence and machine learning are available, but entities are not at the maturity level they need to be to adopt these technologies effectively. Concurrently, many companies are doing the same thing over and over, yet expecting a different result, because they have no real understanding of the threat vectors or the attack surface.
